Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is an acclaimed Indian actor, known for her roles in the films Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! In the 1980s the actress began her acting career, and was famous for her role as Tezaab which she played with an established actor Anil Kapooor. In the following film, she was a part of Aamir as part of Dil. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance from a very young age. She started acting when an infant and was struggling for several years because many of her early films failed. She eventually became one of the biggest actresses of Indian film. She took a break from acting following her marriage before returning to the industry of entertainment. In the last few years, Dixit had a major role to play on Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggle of Indian women. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian award in India. Her name is well-known for her work in the field of social service as well.
